OT Career Choices

Overseas Applicants: OT's from outside Australia and New Zealand can work in NSW, Tasmania, Victoria and the Australian Capital Territory (Canberra) without formal registration however OT Australia expects that your qualifications will be suitable and you should contact them and apply for a letter of recognition.  

For other states, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory, OT's must apply to the relevant application board for registration which in some cases may involve an examination process. Locum Division: We have a large and active locum team with practitioners working across the country. Some of our OT's have been working on and off with is for many years. We have access to locum appointments across Australia in both Private Practice, Hospitals and Aged Care. Flexibility is the key for successful locum work placements, candidates need to be open to ideas with relation to location especially. While we always will attempt to find work for you in a location of your choosing, this is sometimes not always possible.

Wages will vary depending on experience and the site, many staff are employed by us directly and we cover wages, super and insurance as well as assisting with other benefits such as accommodation and travel. For many regional and rural assignments, accommodation and travel will be included. For some hospitals and practices you will be employed by them directly at their discretion. 

Assignment lengths can vary from one week to one month to six months, it is a great opportunity for OT's to travel and see Australia!
