Allied Health Employment is pleased to be able to offer Physiotherapists
(Physical Therapists) employment opportunities in the USA. We work closely with our American based
associates to provide unique employment opportunities in Hospitals, Private
Practice and Aged Care Centres across the USA.

Are
your qualifications suitable to work in the USA?
All non American trained Physiotherapists (Physical Therapists) must sit the National Physical Therapy
Examinations (NPTE) this is a 5 hour multiple choice examination to be
undertaken in the USA. Physiotherapy applicants must pass this section in order to be able to
register as a Physiotherapist and work in the USA. To be eligible to sit
the NPTE, you MUST possess an undergraduate Physiotherapy
(Physical Therapy) degree from your home country that is not less than 4 years in length.
If your degree is less than 4 years, unfortunately you will not be eligible to
apply for work in the USA.

How will I gain employment and a visa for the USA
In nearly all cases, you will be employed directly by the recruitment agency.
After your initial application, your resume will be assessed and if deemed
suitable, you will be offered a telephone interview by our American agency
partners for a further assessment of your Physiotherapy skills as well as an
English language assessment for candidates from non English speaking
backgrounds. The interview will be conducted by an American Physiotherapist.
Should you be successful at this point, you will be offered a
contract of employment that clearly outlines the terms and conditions. Should
you accept the contract terms, we will arrange your visa & employment as
well as provide you with a Green Card that gives you and your family lifetime
American residency. We will at this point also require certain documents from
you to arrange your place to sit the NPTE as well as USA Credentialing and
licencing. You will also be given details on exam preparation from a USA
Physiotherapist

What
type of visa will I receive and how long will the process take
From the time of application to us with your resume, you can
expect to be interviewed within 3 to 4 weeks. Successful candidates can expect
to receive a contract offer within a few weeks after this time.
The type of visa you receive depends on your nationality.
For Australian citizens, you will be eligible for an E3 visa,
this allows you and your spouse (not de-facto) to enter the USA and work for the
employer that has provided the visa for you in most cases this will be the
agency. An E3 visa will take around 12-16 weeks to organise once all paperwork
is in order.
For citizens of most other countries, you will enter the USA on
a H1B visa, this is also provided by your employer and in most cases the
agency. It will normally take up to 12 months to arrange this visa.
All candidates will also receive a Green Card, this will usually
be issued around 8-9 months after you arrive in the USA. For some non
Australian candidates, you may be sponsored on a Green Card from the outset.
Will there be any costs for me?
There will be costs for all successful candidates, but no cost to make an
application. If your application is successful, you will be charged an upfront
payment at the time that you accept a contract. Only after the payment is
made can we process your visa and other documents. The fee charged is not for
finding you employment, it is to cover immigration, visas, document
credentialing, arrangement of the NPTE and State licencing as well as
immigration lawyer fees associated with the organisation of your visa. The fee
you are charged depends on the the type of visa you will be receiving as some
visas take longer to organise and are more expensive to pay for.
What can we provide for you?
-
guaranteed employment in an area of your choice - hospital,
private or aged care.
-
flexibility of long term or temp work or both (temp
assignments will usually be around 3-4 months in length)
-
